Treatment with Invisalign® could be just what you need to correct mild to moderate misaligned teeth. The inconspicuous aligners (dental splints) have many different advantages for the patient. We would be pleased to discuss your individual wishes and goals that can be achieved through a treatment with Invisalign® in a personal consultation.

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is the world industry leader in removable, invisible plastic aligners for the treatment of misaligned teeth and boasts state-of-the-art technology. The transparent aligners move Tooth by Tooth into their correct position. During the entire treatment with Invisalign®, the patient receives a new plastic aligner every 1-2 weeks, which differs minimally from the previous one. Teeth have to adapt to the new aligner again and again due to the minimal pressure effect and are finally in the correct position after treatment with the last aligner.

Frequently asked questions about Invisalign® treatment

How long must Invisalign® be worn daily?

Invisalign® should be worn for at least 20-22 hours a day. The aligners should only be removed for eating and drinking in order not to delay the duration of treatment.

Which malocclusions can be corrected with Invisalign®?

Various tooth misalignments can be corrected with Invisalign® treatment. This includes, for example, rotated and crooked teeth. We will be pleased to discuss whether you are a suitable candidate for treatment with Invisalign® in a personal consultation at our dental practice at Zahnärzte am Löwenplatz, Zurich.

How is the Invisalign® tray cleaned?

The Invisalign® aligners should be cleaned daily with a toothbrush and rinsed room temperature warm water. For more intensive cleaning, you can obtain so-called Invisalign® cleaning crystals from us, which you dissolve in a container of water. Then place the aligner in it and allow the cleaning liquid to take effect. Finally, rinse your Invisalign® aligner with water.

Important: Do not use water that is too hot, as this could deform the aligner!

Does health insurance cover the costs of treatment with Invisalign®?

No, Swiss basic health insurance does not cover the costs of treatment with Invisalign®. However, depending on the contractual agreement, supplementary additional health insurance policies may cover the costs of this treatment.

Advantages of treatment with Invisalign®

Above all, the transparency of Invisalign® convinces our patients to determine for this type of tooth correction, as this method is barely visible to others and patients are not disturbed by annoying, uncomfortable wires. In addition, the aligners can be removed for eating and drinking, which means that patients are not restricted in their everyday lives. In terms of dental care, Invisalign® also has the significant advantage that the aligners can be removed. Teeth and aligner can therefore be cleaned separately and usually more thoroughly than fixed Orthodontic braces.

Treatment procedure with Invisalign®

Before treatment with Invisalign®, we will inform you in our dental practice in Zurich whether this type of tooth correction is suitable for you and discuss your concerns and wishes with you. We will then examine your teeth to explain your individual course of treatment. We then use a 3D computer simulation to create a model of your teeth, which shows you the expected precise results even before the treatment. The duration of treatment with Invisalign® varies from patient to patient, as it depends on the severity of the misaligned teeth and the number of aligners required.

The Invisalign® treatment is planned, supervised and monitored by our experienced orthodontics specialist Dr. Eberbach..

We would be happy to discuss your individual treatment with Invisalign® and its expected duration with you in a personal consultation at our dental practice at Zahnärzte am Löwenplatz, Zurich.
